Description

This is a rare Silvertone 1360 (Danelectro model: U2), “peanut” (smaller body) electric guitar. It is a semi-hollowbody, Masonite over pine construction with a yellow finish, black vinyl binding, two lipstick tube-style pickups, a four way adjustable, unplated, light weight aluminum bridge with a Brazilian rosewood saddle, a metal nut, a clear plastic pickguard, a Coke-bottle headstock, concentric volume and tone controls, and original white plastic strap buttons. It was made by Danelectro in Neptune, New Jersey around 1956 and it is in nice playing and collecting condition especially for an axe that is about sixty years old! The neck is straight with nice fast action. The pickups are as clear and potent as they have ever been. This guitar is 100% original. It feels great and sounds incredible. It can be used to play a wide variety of styles. It comes with an original two-tone hard case.Description from VintageSilvertones.com

CONDITION:
This guitar is 100% original. It is in good condition and clean for its age. There are only a few scrapes to the yellow finish on the front and back of the body and a few along the sides. The black vinyl binding is in pretty good condition although there is a piece missing near the input jack. Also, the input jack has a circular area around it where the binding is missing that moves slightly when pulling the cable out. Overall, this guitar plays beautifully and sounds great!

TUNERS:
The tuners, opened-back, 3×2’s with plastic buttons are in good working condition, although the high E tuner is slightly bent. They are smooth and hold the tuning well.Description from VintageSilvertones.comiption from VintageSilvertones.com

NECK:
The neck is in good shape. It’s a straight, bolt-on neck with dot inlays on a Brazilian rosewood fretboard, 21 frets, and a 25″ scale. The frets are almost as new with no wear. The paint on the back of the neck has some playing wear. The Coke-bottle headstock, featuring the horizontal silkscreened logo, has some minor wear along the top edges. The neck is kept straight with an aluminum reinforcement rod that extends into the body up to the neck pickup cavity. With its fast action, the neck feels fanstastic under your fingers to play a variety of rhythm and lead styles.

PICKUPS:
The two single coil, lipstick tube-style pickups are very clean, strong and bright. The neck pickup has a full tone perfect for rock, blues, soul or punk. The bridge pickup has a sharper twang that is good for funk, folk, rock or country. Using the combination of pickups and tone knobs gives you a wide variety of musical tones from which to choose. There are four concentric pots, one tone stacked on one volume for each pickup. The toggle switch allows you to select the neck, bridge or both pickups; however, with this guitar, both pickups are alway actived. If you want to solo the bridge or neck pickup you have to roll down the volume on the other pickup. Otherwise, the pots and toggle are clean sounding. Description from VintageSilvertones.com
