Description
This is a Danelectro 63 Double Cutaway, (Silvertone 1449 reissue), six string electric guitar made by Danelectro in China in 2014 with a black sparkle, high-gloss finish and white Tolex binding. This guitar is 100% original and new-old stock. This is a rare, limited edition guitar that celebrates its inspiration the Silvertone 1449 which was an amp-in-case model. It is a double cutaway, masonite top and bottom with a plywood frame.
The guitar has two pickups with a tone and volume control for both pickups with a three-way toggle switch to choose between neck, bridge or both pickups. The bridge is a modern-day style which is adjustable for height and intonation. The six individual Kluson-Deluxe-style, tuners have a chrome finish with chrome buttons which are in very good working condition. All of the tuners are smooth and hold the pitch well.

The neck is a maple (presumably) wood with rosewood fretboard. The bolt-on neck is straight, with a high-gloss, black finish on the back, white plastic fret marker dots on the fretboard, an aluminum nut, 19 frets and a 25″ scale. It has an adjustable truss rod; which has a black, plastic cover at the base of the headstock. The “Cokebottle” headstock has a Danelectro logo with a black high-gloss finish. Overall the neck and headstock are very clean.
PICKUPS:
This guitar has two single coil lipstick tube style pickups with a 3-way toggle to switch between the neck, bridge or both pickups. They are a chrome finish, lipstick-tube Alnico-50s style pickups. The neck pickup has a clean, jazzy tone while the bridge pickup has a bright more raspy tone. The middle position is louder and a bit raw.
