Description

Mosrite Celebrity III electric guitar made circa 1971 (but could be as early as 1968) at the factory in Bakersfield California. It is a beautiful, double cutaway, thin, hollow body instrument. The features include a super rare, dark translucent blue finish (the woodgrain shows through the finish a bit), white binding on the body, two single coil pickups, two bound f-holes, an adjustable metal bridge with individually adjustable saddles, a trapeze-style tailpiece made of metal and wood, two metal strap pins, a 3-ply (off-white-black-white) white pickguard and control panel plate on which all of the electronics except for the pickups are mounted. The serial number is K21xx and the neck matches the tag inside the body. This extremely rare, blue Celebrity is an incredible find that you don’t want to lose out on. CONDITION:
The guitar is 100% original except for the pickup selection switch. It was not staying in position. The original switch that came with the guitar is included in the gig bag. The guitar is in good condition. There are some minor dings, nicks on the body, and overall wear from its nearly 60 years of playing wear. The pickguard has faded slightly to more of a tan color. Overall, the guitar looks clean, plays very great, and sounds beautiful.

TUNERS:
The all original, closed back, individual, deluxe tuners with silver/chrome buttons with a unique, flat, diamond/septagram shape are smooth and in proper working order.Description from VintageSilvertones.com

NECK:
Very thin, straight, bolt-on neck, with 23 very low, Mosrite “speed frets” including the zero fret and a metal nut on an Indian rosewood fingerboard and a 24.5″ (25″ from nut) scale. The frets are marked by two small dot inlays per marked fret except for the twelfth fret which has three tiny dots. There is very minor fret wear on the 2nd & 3rd frets, but that does not effect the tone or playability of the instrument. The headstock, featuring an classic M shape on the top and silkscreened logos, has very minor wear on the top near the edges. The neck, which is kept straight with an adjustable truss rod, has one small spot of wear on the back. The action is fast.

PICKUPS:
The two high performing Mosrite pickups are in good working condition. The neck pickup has a clean, clear, warm bell-like tone while the bridge has a crispier, treblier, smooth tone. This guitar is good for a myriad of styles, including jazz, rock, funk, blues, and country. This Mosrite has silver, “M” stamped, hat-type volume and tone knobs marked with “T” and “V” indicators along with the numbers 1-5 on the base of the knob. The pickups share one volume and one tone control. It also has a three-way toggle to select the neck, bridge or both pickups. And, all electronics work properly. Description from VintageSilvertones.com
