Description
This is a rare Silvertone 1357 (Danelectro model: U1), “peanut” (smaller body), single cutaway electric guitar. It is a semi-hollowbody, solid-center, Masonite over pine construction with a ginger colored vinyl finish, tan vinyl binding, one lipstick tube-style pickup, a four way adjustable, unplated, light weight aluminum bridge with a Brazilian rosewood saddle, a metal nut, a clear plastic pickguard, a Coke-bottle headstock, two white plastic knobs, and original white plastic strap buttons. It was made by Danelectro in Neptune, New Jersey in1956 and it is in good playing and collecting condition especially for an axe that is almost seventy years old! The neck is straight with nice fast action and the pickups are as clear and potent as they have ever been. This guitar is 100% original. It still looks lovely, feels fantastic and sounds superb.
