SILVERTONE 1357/U1
1955

Silvertone 1357 made by Danelectro U1, one pickup, electric guitar, semi-hollow body, ginger vinyl finish tan vinyl binding, masonite body, lipstick pickup, rare, made in 1955 This is a very rare Silvertone 1357 of the C-Series (Danelectro model: U1), "peanut" (smaller body), single cutaway electric guitar. It is a semi-hollowbody, solid-center, Masonite over pine construction with a ginger colored vinyl finish, tan vinyl binding, one lipstick tube-style pickup, a four way adjustable, unplated, light weight aluminum bridge with a Brazilian rosewood saddle, a metal nut, a clear plastic pickguard, a Coke-bottle headstock, two white plastic knobs, and original white plastic strap buttons. It was made by Danelectro in Neptune, New Jersey in 1955 and it is in good playing and collecting condition especially for an axe that is about sixty year old! The neck is straight with nice fast action and the pickups are as clear and potent as they have ever been. This guitar is 100% original. This particular guitar is very rare with the hybrid combination of its ginger vinyl cover, its lipstick tube style pickup and its frontally and rear exposed neck reinforcement rod. It is a hybrid between the bell headstock and the C-Series 1375 ginger. This 1357 may be one of the most rare silvertones ever and it may be a prototype or a very limited edition. It comes with an original, period correct hard shell case. It looks lovely, feels fantastic and sounds superb. Don't miss your chance to get this classic!
