SILVERTONE: 14788
circa 1967

Silvertone 14788- Harmony-made solid body, 2 pickup, blue electric guitar in sunburst with blue prickups made cirac 1967, made in Chicago IL USAThis is an extremely cool Silvertone 14788 solid body electric guitar with a very rare metallic blue finish, two blue pickups. The solid color metallic blue finish is fare more rare than the red sunburst models. It's got a great range of sounds from the very strong DeArmond pickups. It will go from a serious surf/country twang to heavy rock and maybe even a bit of jazz if you turn down the tone controls. It's model after the Jaguars. The package includes a very good condition original, two-tone grey hard shell case.Description from VintageSilvertones.com

CONDITION:
Very clean, 8.5 out of 10, finish has some minor dings along with general wear. There are crazing (finish cracks) but they are hard to see unless you look closely. Pick guard is in good shape with one minor chip in the corner near the upper bout. 100% original except two screws were replaced in the bridge.

TUNERS:
6-inline, open-back tuners. All original, in good working order. The low A tuner is very slightly bent but works absolutely fine.

NECK:
Bolt-on, straight, medium fast action, fully bound, beautiful mother of pearl block inlays on the rosewood fretboard, 20 frets, and 24.25" scale. Dot markers on side of neck. Frets are in good condition with lots of life left in them. The back of the neck is very clean with very little wear or nicks. Headstock is in good shape with just a few dings. Adjustable truss rod.

PICKUPS:
Two blue DeArmonds that give a great surf, country, or heavy rock sound but could work for a variety of styles
Neck pickup is very bright, rich, very strong, and loud. Bridge pickup has a serious twangy and loud. One tone and one volume control for each pickup. Overall the pickups are very strong and sound incredible. There is an mini-plug jack in the pickguard. It does not appear to function as a headphone jack. So it either is a secondary output jack or does not work.

EXTRAS:
Vibrato in good working order. Includes original case which is in very good condition.
