Description
This is a Silvertone electric guitar made by Supro. It’s very similar to the Supro Rhythm Tone model. The guitar has a black finish and all gold hardware. It has one single-coil pickup, a modern-day, floating Tunomatic-style bridge in gold, a white plastic nut, and a rosewood fretboard with white, block inlays. This guitar is in good condition with minor ware/scrapes to the finish as one would expect for a guitar over 60 years old. The Silvertone Artist plate may be a replacement. There’s 2, filled in tiny nail holes on either side of gold plate. The guitar plays well with fast action and a straight neck. It’s a fun guitar to play with a nice range of tones. The tone control is the trick; which has a really nice roll-off of tone. Gig bag, no case included. Description from VintageSilvertones.com
CONDITION:
This guitar is in good condition for its age. There are minor scrapes and dings to the body and neck. This is a beautiful guitar that plays and sounds as well as it looks. There is a very tiny split on the side of the fretboard at the first fret; which is almost imperceptible and does not affect the playing. And it does not go across at all. (It’s super, minor-just noting it to be thorough.) Some of the paint has bubbled on the upper part of the body and has been touched up.
TUNERS: Description from VintageSilvertones.com
3×3, closed back, gold Kluson Deluxe tuners with plastic buttons. The tuners are good working order.
NECK:
Bolt-on, straight neck with block inlays on a (Brazilian?) rosewood fretboard, 19 frets, and 24.5″ scale. Frets are in very good condition with minor wear on the first two frets and the action is fast. The back of the neck has some playing wear which is to be expected on such a classic guitar. The headstock has some crazing with minor wear around the edges.
PICKUPS:
One single coil, gold pickup. The guitar has a tone and volume controls which work properly. The tone control has a really nice range from fully bright, to kinda Jazzy, to more muted. It’s good for Rock, Blues, Jazz, and many more musical styles. For a single pickup guitar it has a great range the pickup is strong. All the electronics work correctly.
