Description

This is a single cutaway, solid center body Silvertone made by Danelectro of Neptune, New Jersey, circa 1960. This 1415L model, which was named the 1417 before 1961, features a bronze lacquer finish on a masonite over pine construction, a clear plastic pickguard with a white vinyl underlay, white vinyl binding, one single coil lipstick tube style pickup, two aluminum strap pins, two white plastic knobs, a metal nut, a dolphin nose headstock and a four-way adjustable chrome plated brass bridge with a Brazilian rosewood saddle. It comes with an original brown leather soft case in addition to a protective soft carry case. The guitar is in great shape, especially for an instrument that is approximately fifty-six years old. It looks terrific, plays fantastic and sounds as good. This New Old Stock guitar is perfect for players and collectors.Description from VintageSilvertones.com

CONDITION:
This guitar is in very good condition and 100% original. The finish is very clean except for a tiny circular shaped scrape to the finish a little above the bridge to the left and another even smaller, almost invisible scratch on the side near the binding on the lower bass bout. There is also one very small, barely visible, scrape to the finish on the back. These very minor blemishes are listed here in the interest of full disclosure but this is a beautiful instrument that plays and sound terrific.Description from VintageSilvertones.com

TUNERS:
The all original, six in-line, opened back one piece tuners with white plastic buttons are in good working order.Description from VintageSilvertones.com

NECK:
It has a straight, bolt-on, neck with matching bronze lacquer finish on the rear and headstock, force fitted plastic dot inlays on a Brazilian rosewood fingerboard, 21 frets, and 25.75″ scale. The frets are in great condition. The dolphin nose headstock, featuring a horizontal, raised plastic faux-chrome script Silvertone logo is clean with only two tiny spots of wear to the finish on the top edges. With its fast action, the neck feels fine under your fingers.Description from VintageSilvertones.com

PICKUP:
The one, lipstick tube style, single coil pickup, which is in the neck position, is in very good working condition. It is potent, clean and bright without being harsh or too trebly. There is one volume and one tone control for the pickup. The guitar also has a metal three-way toggle for instantaneous tonal manipulation. The pots and switch are clean and in good condition. The electronics are accessible through a stainless steel control cavity coverplate with an embossed pattern. All guitar electronics work properly. The tones this guitar creates are suitable for a wide variety of musical styles including rock, funk, blues, country, etc. Description from VintageSilvertones.com
