Description
This is a 1967 Danelectro Dane series B2N solidbody electric guitar made by Danelectro of Neptune New Jersey. It has an off-white neck and black crackle finish body. This Danelectro B2N features a chambered solid body, double cutaway, Durabody, black crackle finish front and back, two single coil lipstick tube pickups, a clear plastic pickguard with thin black outline, two aluminum strap pins, 5-way adjustable bridge. This guitar is nearly 100% original and in good condition. The action is medium-fast and has an excellent range of tones with the bridge/bridge+neck/neck selector switch options. The only thing that makes this not 100% original is the raised, plastic logo is a period correct replacement and one screw has been replaced on the pickguard. This sharp-looking guitar plays and sounds excellent. It comes gig bag. Description from VintageSilvertones.com
CONDITION:
This guitar is nearly 100% original (the Danelectro logo on the headstock is a period-correct replacement and one screw on the pickguard) and it is in very good condition. It has a bit of playing wear around the body and headstock but overall very clean for a 55 year old guitar. The pickguard has a few dings and one very small crack at the neck pickup. Check the plethora photos for the details.
TUNERS:
The six inline Danelectro-made Skate-Key tuners with metal buttons are in good working condition. Description from ntageSilvertones.com
NECK:
It has a straight, bolted-on, neck with circular inlays on a Brazilian rosewood fretboard, an aluminum nut, 21 frets, 24.75″ scale with medium fast action. It has the Danelectro “Never-warp neck” which has steel reinforced beams in it to ensure it doesn’t warp. It gets a slightly high after the 12th fret. But that can be adjusted with tilt-neck adjustment, if preferred. But, is totally fine as is. There’s a few, very small paint chips on the headstock and one tiny nick on the neck near the body. Otherwise, it’s super clean.
PICKUPS:
There are two single coil pickups. The bridge pickup is twangy with a raw tone to it. The neck pickup is strong, clean, bright and warm. The tone and volume controls work correctly. The bridge pickup, as with a lot of Danelectros, has an interesting roll-off when turned down; which gives it a bit of extra range of tone. The neck pickup tone control is pretty standard and gives a nice Jazzy tone, if desired. When the tone is fully up it’s very clear sounding. It’s got a nice range of tones that will work well for Country, Rock, Blues, and Rockabilly but will work for a variety of styles. This Danelectro B2N guitar has one volume and one tone knob for each pickup. There is are two toggle switches for isolated neck or bridge, and both pickups combined. The pots and switches are clean sounding and in fine working order.
