DANELECTRO HAND VIBRATO 4021
circa 1964

Danelectro Hand Vibrato 4021, semi-hollow body, electric guitar with 2 pickups in black circa 1964 This is a Danelectro Hand Vibrato model 4021, double-cutaway, double pickup, electric guitar, made in Neptune New Jersey circa 1964. It has a black finish with a white pickguard on which all of the electronics are mounted, white tolex binding, concentric volume and tone knobs and a batwing style headstock. It also features a floating, metal, four-way adjustable bridge with a rosewood saddle and a whammy bar. This instrument will be appreciated by players and collecters. Not only does it have a great feel and a wonderful sound, it is also a good looking guitar that has held up well over the past 51 years. The guitar is identical to the 3021 Jimmy Page played in the live Led Zeppelin shows with the exception of the vibrato and the "batwing" headstock. It includes an orginal hardshell case. Get this while you can!

CONDITION:
This guitar is 100% orginal and in good condition. It is very clean for a guitar that is approximately fifty years old. The finish has a very few minor scrapes on the back and some wear near the bottom treble bout on the back. The pickguard has some very minor wear around the edges. TUNERS:
The 2 x 3 opened back tuners with white plastic buttons are in very good working order.

NECK:
Bolt-on, straight neck with dot inlays on rosewood fretboard, 21 frets, and 25" scale. There is a tiny bit of wear on the top two frets but that does not effect the sound or playability of the instrument. There is some barely noticeable wear in the middle of the back of the neck. The batwing headstock with the metallic, raised Danelectro logo, has some minor wear on the top. The neck is kept straight with dual steel rods. With its fast action, the fretboard feels great to play.

PICKUPS:
The two lipstick tube pickups are strong and in good working order. The neck pickup is full and smooth sounding. The bridge pickup is a bit more twangy but maintains its heft. Using both pickups and the controls one can acheive a large amounts of tones suitable for a myriad of musical styles. There is a tone and a volume pot for each pickup. The knobs are stack in a concentric style. All electronics are in proper working order and sound great.
