SILVERTONE MODEL: 1451
AMP IN CASE - 1967 - DANELECTRO

Silvertone 1451-Danelectro-made 1 pickup, electric guitar amp in case, 1966, black This is a double cutaway, solid hardwood body, Silvertone made by Danelectro of Neptune, New Jersey, circa 1967. It features a black finish decorated with silver sparkle accents, a masonite pickguard on which all of the electronics are mounted, one single coil lipstick tube style pickup, two aluminum strap pins, two black, plastic knobs with cardboard top inserts with a single indicator line on one and a triangle on the other, an aluminum nut and a four-way adjustable chromed brass bridge with a Brazilian rosewood saddle on which someone has put what appears to be a fret. The 1451 electric guitar is an "amp-in-case" model but this particular guitar does not come with the "amp-in-case". It does come with an original brown leather soft case in addition to a protective soft carry case. This model was available from 1967 to 1968. These solid body guitars are much harder to find than the earlier Silvertone 1448 single pickup models, which it replaced in the line. With its medium-fast action this guitar is a joy to play and to dig into for some heavy riffing and chord work. It has a great single coil tone that is not harsh. This guitar not only plays well, it still looks beautiful after about fifty years of play, displaying only some minor wear. Collectors and players will appreciate it.Description from VintageSilvertones.com

CONDITION:
This guitar is in good condition. Beside the addition to the bridge saddle, this guitar is original. There is some finish wear along the sides and edges of the guitar and some small spots of wear on the back. All the electronics work properly and the instrument sounds great.

The all original, six in-line, closed back tuners with metal, skate-key buttons are in good working order.

NECK:
It has a straight, bolt-on, poplar neck with force fitted plastic dot inlays on a Brazilian rosewood fingerboard, 18 frets, and 23.5" scale. The frets are in good condition with lots of life left in them. The In-Line Scoop headstock, featuring a horizontal, silkscreened Silvertone logo, has some wear to its black sparkle finish along the edges. With its medium-fast action, the neck feels fine under your fingers.

PICKUP:
The one, lipstick tube style, single coil pickup, which is in the neck position, is in very good working condition. It is potent, clean and bright without being harsh or too trebly. There is one volume and one tone control for the pickup. The pots are clean and in good condition. All guitar electronics work properly. The tones this guitar creates are suitable for a wide variety of musical styles including rock, funk, soul, country, etc.
