CONDITION:
This Silvertone 1420/Stratotone is very clean and in good condition. There are two very small, barely noticeable spots of paint wear on the front of the body: one on the treble side of the tailpiece, and a smaller one near the curve on the bass side. There is also some minimal wear along the edges near the binding at the top treble horn, and about about three or four tiny spots of wear on the back.

TUNERS:
The tuners, opened-back, 2x3 inline machine-heads with white, plastic buttons are in good working condition. The tuner for the D string is slightly bent but it is barely noticeable and it does not effect the tuning or playability. They are smooth and hold the tuning and intonation well.

NECK:
The neck is in good shape. It's a straight, bolt-on neck with circular mother-of-pearl inlays on what looks like an ebony fretboard, 20 frets, a plastic nut, and a 24" scale. The frets are almost like new with no wear. The paint on the back of the neck has some minor wear. The headstock, featuring silkscreened "Silvertone" logo, has some minor wear along the edges. The neck is pretty thick, "baseball bat"-style, and therefore stays straight. The action is fast. The neck and the frets feel fantastic under your fingers.

PICKUPS:
The two metal, single coil pickups sound very clean and full. The neck pickup has a nice round tone, good for jazz, folk, blues, soul and rock. The bridge pickup is bright with a nice, rich twang sound perfect for country, funk, rock and more. On the pickguard, there is a volume and a tone knob for each pickup and a three way selector to choose the neck, bridge or both pickups. Using the tone and volume for each pickup and the selector, you can access a wide variety of tones sounds suitable for a myriad of musical styles. The pots and toggle sound very clean.
