ALAMO: Eldorado 2598T
circa 1965

Alamo Eldorado, red, 2pu, double cutaway, solid body, Bigsby tailpieceThis is an Alamo Eldorado model 2598T guitar. It is a beautiful offset double cutaway, two single coil pickup, solidbody instrument. The features include a Honduran Mahogany body, a red cherry stained finish, an adjustable, metal bridge, a Bigsby tremolo tailpiece, two metal strap pins, and an "A" logo'd black, multi-laminate pickguard with white edges on which all of the electronics are mounted. This guitar comes with the original hardshell case. Alamo Electronics was founded in 1946 when Milton Fink, owner of Southern Music, asked Newark, New Jersey native, Charles Eilenburg, to establish a manufacturing company with him in San Antonio. After making a series of products such as record players and battery powered radios, Alamo began making a series of amplifiers followed by a line of guitars. In 1964 Alamo began to create three lines of guitar products. One of them was their Professional line which included the Eldorado guitar and bass. These instruments were considered their more high end product. This particular guitar has stood the test of time, looking lovely and rocking like a beast after fifty years, making it great for collectors and players. This guitar is a beautiful, rare find that you do not want to miss. Get your hands on this piece of guitar history. Description from VintageSilvertones.com

CONDITION:Description from VintageSilvertones.com
This guitar is 100% original and in good condition. There are some minor scratches directly on either side of the bridge. There are also a few small, shallow dings on the front, sides and back that do not even penetrate the finish, otherwise, it is clean. A small piece of the bridge is chipped off underneath the screw that adjusts the height of the bridge on the treble side but that does not subtract from the beauty, tone and feel of the guitar. The bridge is still fully functional. The original case in in good condition although a previous owner, perhaps, wrote, "manimal was here" on the inside top.

NECK:Description from VintageSilvertones.com
Bolt-on, straight, bound neck with 19 frets, a Rosewood fingerboard and a 24.25" scale. The frets are marked by rectangular, mother of pearl inlays, and the action is fast. The first fret has a tiny bit of wear but that does not effect the tone or playability of the instrument. The headstock has some slight wear on the edges. The Eldorado logo is on the uniquely designed, elongated, cover for the truss rod that is keeping the neck straight.

PICKUPS:Description from VintageSilvertones.com
The two metal covered single coil pickups are in good working condition. The neck pickup has a clean, clear, round, jazzy tone while the bridge has a twangy, clean, smooth tone. This guitar is good for a myriad of styles including jazz, funk rock, rockabilly, country, rhythm and blues, blues, and classic soul. When used with the right distortion settings, it can scream beautifully making it good for playing various forms of rock. This Eldorado has four black plastic knobs with silver, reflective tops: volume and tone for each pickup. It also has a three-way toggle to select the neck, bridge or both pickups. The range of the tone knobs are very limited when using the neck or bridge pickups but the range is much more pronounced when using both pickups. All electronics work properly.
